The Ultimate Sketcher - Northside Hospital Rehab Center

Updated: Apr 17

You may have seen his face behind the desk at Northside Hospital Rehab Center, but this is not your ordinary patient coordinator; this is a man of many talents. Zack Galofaro is the talent behind The Ultimate Sketcher.

Zack's passion for art began in elementary school, taking classes in middle school. Zack started as a comic book artist, eventually moving into drawing portraits for individuals and families. As an artist passionate about capturing details in his drawings, Zack spends extra time ensuring each piece has the correct shading to create the 3D effect that makes his work stand out from his peers.

Superheroes have always had a soft spot in Zack's heart that has strongly influenced his creative style. "When I can show people who they are through the filter of being a superhero, it can empower them to see themselves in a new light.

" I was once commissioned to draw a portrait for a young girl who was in a serious accident and confined to her hospital room with a long recovery ahead. Her family wanted to give her something to bring life to her hospital room and inspire her. At first, I was at a loss, but as I tapped into my emotions and studied her features, I was inspired to depict her as The Green Lantern. Even though I am not a parent yet, I put myself in their shoes, imagining how difficult it would be to watch your daughter go through something like that. After she left the hospital, her family reached out to tell me how much the portrait influenced her journey to recovery. I know that art is a fundamental part of who I am as a person, but I never take this gift that I have for granted. I am blessed to be able to use what I love to influence others and help make the world a more beautiful place."

When asked about the future of his business, Zack's response was pure. "I look forward to growing The Ultimate Sketcher business and being commissioned to create more pieces for others, but I am not interested in getting to the point where the business outweighs the passion. That would break my heart as an artist, so I will always keep safeguards to preserve the balance. Not everyone finds that one thing in their life they love as I have, so I know without a doubt I am one of the lucky ones."

Getting plugged into the community through local art fairs and some of the events offered here in Gwinnett County is on my list for 2025. I am excited to see what the future holds, whose life needs to be touched, and how I can be a part of that process in the next few months. I invite you to get to know me better and explore my work on Instagram @theultimatesketcher."
